Create a willow sweet pea basket workshop, Mothering Sunday weekend at the Wardrobe Museum
Description
Join me for a relaxed and creative sweet pea basket workshop, set in the beautiful surroundings of the Wardrobe Museum, Cathedral Close, Salisbury—a perfect Mothering Sunday weekend treat. This workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy a day of making, whether as a gift for someone special or a treat for yourself. You will create a charming Sweet Pea basket designed to support climbing plants, ideal for use indoors or outdoors on a raised base. Guided step-by-step, you’ll learn how to construct and shape your basket, resulting in a piece that is both practical and decorative. As well as being perfect for sweet peas and other climbers, the finished basket also makes a beautiful centrepiece for a floristry design, adding natural texture and height. Suitable for all skill levels, this workshop is a thoughtful and creative way to celebrate Mothering Sunday, offering time, inspiration, and something truly handmade to take home. Please note that we will be upstairs in the museum and there is no lift available. Workshops must be booked at least one week in advance to allow time for soaking and preparing the willow. If you’re booking closer to the workshop date, please contact me via the 'Message the tutor' button before reserving a place. If no dates are currently available, feel free to get in touch, and I’ll add you to the waiting list in case a space becomes available.
What's included in the price?
All materials, use of tools, tuition, drinks and snacks. Working with willow can be tiring on the hands and difficult if you find it hard to pull or use fine movements with your fingers, twisting movements, etc. Some of the activities are kinder than others, so if you are not sure please get in touch with me for a chat via the 'Message the tutor' button. You will need to bring your own lunch or you can book a table at the Riflemans Table café and kitchen, which is in front of the Museum.
