Emily R. Harris reviewed: Lampwork Glassmaking Creative Workshop

"I’ve worked with different crafts before, this is one of the best. The explanations were practical and precise, especially around heat control and timing. Nothing felt vague or improvised. You’re taught why you’re doing something, not just what to do. A solid learning experience, not just a one-off activity."

James Wilson reviewed: Lampwork Glassmaking Creative Workshop

"The quality of the instructor really makes this experience. Calm, observant, and very good at stepping in at exactly the right moment without taking over. Even when I made small mistakes, I never felt rushed or embarrassed. Everything was explained clearly and adjusted to each person’s pace. "

Isla McKenna reviewed: Lampwork Glassmaking Creative Workshop

"10/10 highly recommended! The studio feels professional but not intimidating. The pace is well judged, and there’s a good balance between demonstration and hands-on time. You walk away not only with a finished piece, but also with a real understanding of the process."

Claire reviewed: Parent and child jewellery workshop

"I took my daughter aged 12 to this workshop and we both had a wonderful morning. The hosts were kind, knowledgeable and encouraging. They took time to explain everything and we had plenty of scope to shape the projects to our own tastes so that we could each make something we love and will wear often. The atmosphere (and delicious homemade shortbread!) made it a really lovely way to spend time together. Definitely recommend!"

Goldwrightsjewelleryschool responded:

"Thank you Claire, you both made such lovely jewellery :) thank you for your booking :) "

Nick & Nicky reviewed: Winter Bushcraft Skills

"We attended the winter bushcraft day on the 10th Jan 2026. There were five of us in the group and we were so lucky with the weather, it was ideal conditions, cool, still, sunny, dry, and the light was perfect. Matt's woodland is splendid and his woodland skills are amazing - we were both very impressed. I'm pretty rubbish at lighting fires and I've now got some knowledge to give it a go. I think my friends and family with be impressed (least I'm hoping so :-) ). Tea & biscuits were always available and I recommend anyone interested in learning some woodland skills you won't find a better instructor. The day certainly ran away with us and there wasn't a quiet moment other than some seriously focused people carving spoons and mallets - brilliant fun xx Thank you so much x "

John reviewed: Day classes in traditional blacksmithing ... make an item to take away

"I had a lovely day at the Forge with Rudi. I hadn't done anything like this since I was at school (50 years ago). Made a couple of small items to get a feel for the work and then Rudi helped me make the blade for a Japanese style garden hoe. Very pleased with how it turned out. A beautiful location but in winter you need to have plenty of layers. I'm local to the area, so found the forge reasonably easily - for people travelling further I think a map would be very useful. Really recommend this course - I'm intending to get a place for my son. "

Aardvark Blacksmithing responded:

"Thank you John for the review I enjoyed the day was great to meet you and was good for me to help with the Japanese rice hoe having never made one before so was an intresting day for me Hope the hoe works well in amongst the onions when the weather picks up All the best Rudi "

Stu reviewed: Complete Beginners Learn to Sew Two-Day Workshop - Worcester

"What a fantastic introduction to using a sewing machine. Having not used one since school (seemed a very common theme), I had absolutely no idea how to even begin. The course took us from the very basics of threading up the machine (both mechanical and computer controlled) to our first project of a "simple" drawstring bag. It at first seemed overwhelming with so much to do, but with friendly guidance and help, I couldn't fault it at all. The afternoon session consisted of taking what we learnt and expanding it to cutting our first three part pattern, doing all the hem work, creating a button hole and finally putting it all together. If you are looking at starting to learn to sew using a machine, I couldn't recommend this highly enough."

Maren Gaukroger reviewed: Evening Woodcarving Taster Workshop

"Had a great evening learning about woodcarving with Clunie. We used lime wood and Clunie demonstrated the use of curved gouges and flat chisels to make different kinds of rounded and triangular shapes, which can then be combined. There were five of us in the group, all beginners, and we all benefitted from group demonstrations and individual advice and support. Participants ranged in age from school age to retirees. Clunie provided health and safety information before the course began and advised of local timber providers and suitable reading material for further exploration of the craft. An interesting and informative evening in a friendly environment at a central London location."

Freda Davies reviewed: Daisy Picture: Wet Felting Workshop

"I am not an experienced crafter, I was made to feel welcomed and was given all the help I needed. To come home with the most beautiful wall hanging that I had hand made was wonderful. I'm now looking what to do next."

Wool & Silk Art Studio responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely words 💛 It was an absolute pleasure to have you in the class. You are incredibly talented — your wall hanging was truly beautiful, so delicate and full of character. I especially loved your choice of colours; they were so original and worked together so perfectly, not the usual choices at all, and that made your piece even more special. I’m so happy you enjoyed the experience and left with something you are proud of. I can’t wait to see what you create next, and I’m really looking forward to welcoming you back again 🌸 Best wishes, Svetlana "

……… reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"Really enjoyed learning how to needle felt. (Would have preferred to make something not in a tea cup). Would have like some basic written instruction to take home so I could continue it, e.g. best needle sizes, best kind of wool, what to buy in a starter kit."

Needle Felt Art responded:

"I am pleased you grasped the basic techniques of needle felting, it should enable you to continue in the craft confidently. I will take note of your preference to take home a handout, great feedback. I did discuss the different types of wool and needle sizes and where to order. In the future I will think about a handout with websites for future purchases. Many thanks Yvonne. "

Jennie reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

"I had a very enjoyable day with Sarah. Although I have worked with fabric, I was a complete novice regarding upholstery. Sarah explained all I needed to know to complete a basic upholstered footstool. She demonstrated where needed and then undid it, so I could get to grips with the techniques myself. I feel confident enough to tackle the matching footstool and transfer the skills to some kitchen chair seats I've been planning. "
